In the closing moments of Slammiversary, Josh Alexander made his shocking return after relinquishing the IMPACT World Title due to injury this past April. Alexander would go face-to-face with reigning IMPACT World Champion Alex Shelley, who successfully retained his title over Nick Aldis just moments prior. Then, Alexander uttered the words that sent chills down the spines of wrestling fans around the world, “I’m back”. This Thursday, we will receive a status update from Josh Alexander himself. Just when it looked like ABC were going to leave Slammiversary with their IMPACT World Tag Team Titles intact, the recently-reunited Rascalz made their presence felt. After being denied a shot at the gold, Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz attacked Ace Austin and Chris Bey during the match, taking them out of the equation. This allowed SUBCULTURE to capitalize and win the 4-way showdown to become IMPACT World Tag Team Champions for the very first time. This Thursday, ABC will receive their contractually-obligated rematch as they face off against SUBCULTURE in a traditional tag team contest. Can ABC reclaim their spot at the top of the mountain? Or is the reign of SUBUCULTURE just getting started?
There was no shortage of jaw-dropping moments at Slammiversary, including the surprise return of Jake Something. Joining the fray in the high-risk, high-wire spectacle known as Ultimate X, Jake wasted no time in reminding the world why he’s one of the most athletic big men in all of professional wrestling. This Thursday, Jake will compete on IMPACT! for the first time in over a year as he goes one-on-one with New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Kevin Knight, who also put on a show in the Ultimate X match.
Dirty Dango showed his true colors when he was revealed as the mystery assailant who brutally attacked Santino Marella just a few months ago. Citing Marella’s leadership of the IMPACT locker as the reason behind his attack, Dango was also fueled by his disdain for the wrestlers of today. Upon Marella’s return, tensions reached new heights after Dango disrespected Marella’s daughter. This Thursday, Marella steps back from his role as Director of Authority as he gets his hands on Dango in singles competition. With revenge in the air, what will happen when these two adversaries finally face off?
On Countdown to Slammiversary, the Death Dollz joined forces with Jody Threat for a big win over Gisele Shaw, Savannah Evans and Jai Vidal. This Thursday, Savannah Evans looks to even the score when she goes one-on-one with Courtney Rush. It was Rush who speared Jai Vidal out of his boots to score the victory this past Saturday. But can she do the same to a vengeful Evans?
The action begins Before the IMPACT, streaming this Thursday at 7:15pm ET exclusively on YouTube, IMPACT Plus (live player) and Facebook.
