After suffering his first tournament defeat to KUSHIDA yesterday, Mike Bailey looked to bounce back in the NJPW Best of Super Jr. 30 earlier today in Sendai. Bailey went one-on-one with Titan, both of whom the crowd showed their admiration for when they shook hands to begin the contest. The early advantage went to Bailey as he got a running start to deliver a big kick on the outside. Back in the ring, Bailey and Titan exchanged strikes with Bailey gaining the upper-hand following an Enzuigiri. Bailey then countered a tornado DDT but Titan avoided the follow-up Shooting Star attempt. This time, Titan successfully hit the tornado DDT but Bailey rolled to the outside before he could secure the pin. Bailey soared with a springboard Moonsault to the outside. Moments later, Titan answered with a Top Con Hilo. The action continued as Bailey delivered double knees on the apron. After his own flurry of kicks, Titan was headed to the top rope when Bailey stopped his momentum. Bailey connected with the Flamingo Driver to win the match, bringing his tournament record to 4-1.
