Tonight on IMPACT at 10PM ET

Tonight is the last IMPACT before Final Hour next Thursday night. We know at Final Hour we will see Johnny IMPACT defend the World Title against Killer Kross, but what will happen tonight? A Knockouts Championship Match, the World Tag Team Champs are in action, a thrilling Main Event and more! Don’t miss a second of the action tonight when we kick things off at 10PM ET. Who will race the stakes on the road to Final Hour?

Tonight will feature a Bound For Glory rematch as Tessa Blanchard defends her title against Taya Valkyrie. Taya was recently the guest on Press Pass and had a lot to say about her opponent tonight.

Who will leave with the Knockouts Championship? Find out tonight.

Also tonight, LAX will be in action as Santana and Ortiz compete against Matt Sydal and Ethan Page. If Sydal can guru his team to a victory, they will have earned a future World Tag Team Championship Match.

LAX are fresh off the Chris Jericho Cruise, but this has been the tag team of the year in 2018 and it looks like there is no slowing down Santana and Ortiz.

Speaking of tag teams, Gama Singh has a plan for the Desi Hit Squad and apparently that involves a new individual, however we have no idea who the man is that attacked Rohit last week. Gama promises to provide more detail tonight.

Who is the man? What does he have to do with Gama and Rohit? We hope to learn more tonight.

Pentagon Jr. is a former World Champion. Homicide is a member of the OGz lead by King and last week, King put his team, Homicide and Hernandez, all over Fenix. Luckily for Fenix, his brother Pentagon Jr. was there with a steal chair and thwarted the attack. It seems that King is trying to get to Konnan by any means necessary and King knows how close the Lucha Brothers are to Konnan.

There is a ton on the line tonight in the Main Event between Pentagon Jr. and Fenix. What will happen in the latest chapter? Find out tonight.

Rich Swann faces his good friend Willie Mack tonight in a match that might just steal the show. Swann and Mack want to show the world what they can do against each other and we are all in for a post Halloween treat!

The Rivalry That Led To A Coalition – The Pluto TV Rewind

The IMPACT Wrestling archives are full of unforgettable matches and moments. This week on the Pluto TV Rewind, we head back to Genesis 2006 where AJ Styles battled Christian Cage in a one-on-one bout for the ages!

AJ Styles was coming off a loss at IMPACT Wrestling’s biggest pay-per-view of the year, Bound for Glory. Styles teamed with Christopher Daniels to defend the Tag Team Championships against the Latin American Xchange in a Six Sides of Steel Cage Match. After a lengthy run with the belts, Styles and Daniels decided to go their separate ways and refocus on their singles career. They both had the same goal in mind – the X-Division Championship. AJ Styles was first to challenge for the belt and, in shocking fashion, defeated Sabin on an episode of iMPACT! to claim the gold.

The following week on iMPACT!, Christian Cage continued his heated rivalry with one of his former best-friends, Rhino. Cage defeated Rhino at Bound for Glory in an 8 Mile Street Fight but if there’s one thing we know about Rhino, it’s that he doesn’t stay down! The two warriors would meet again in a Six Sides of Steel Cage Match of their own. Rhino hit Cage with a Spear so powerful that it sent Cage through the cage wall to the floor! With escape being one of the win conditions, this meant that Cage was victorious, although he definitely did not look like a winner.

Later that night, Styles would defend his newly won title against the former champion Chris Sabin and his recent tag team partner, Christopher Daniels. Styles appeared to be on his way to retaining the X-Division Championship when a delusional Christian Cage made his way up on the ring apron to brag about his victory over Rhino. Styles knocked him to the floor but the distraction was enough to cost him the title as Daniels walked away with the gold.

This confrontation lead to a singles bout that fans had only dreamed of – Genesis 2006 was here and it was time for AJ Styles vs. Christian Cage to become a reality! The match did not disappoint as Styles and Cage used every move in their arsenal to try to put the other man away. However, Cage would resort to cheating in an attempt to score the victory. Cage grabbed a steel chair but just when he was about to use it, Christopher Daniels came to the ring and stopped him! Styles attempted to capitalize but Cage was somehow able to turn things around and score the victory! After the match, Styles accused Daniels of costing him the match. The former tag team champions were about to come to blows when Rhino and members of the X-Division broke things up.

The controversy would cause AJ Styles to undergo a change in attitude that we never saw coming – but that’s a story for another time.

The Knockouts Championship Rematch: Tessa vs. Taya 2

At Bound For Glory it was a battle that could have gone either way. Tessa Blanchard vs. Taya Valkyrie was a match that we will not soon forget. Each Knockout determined to steal the show and each Knockout wanting to leave with the title. In the end, it was Tessa Blanchard who retained the Knockouts Championship. Tessa stood tall. However, many people point to a “blown call” by the official in the match, who decided to attend to the ring skirt in the ring and missed the first second or even two of the cover from Taya after the Road to Valhalla.

If Tessa doesn’t grab the skirt, if the ref doesn’t fix that issue, is Taya champion today? Also, the blame can’t be thrown entirely at the official, he made a judgement call and made sure there was nothing in the ring that shouldn’t be in the ring. A safety issue and a rules issue. The timing just cost Taya the Knockouts Championship.

Now, Thursday night, the rematch happens. Tessa Blanchard vs. Taya Valkyrie 2 for the Knockouts Championship on IMPACT Wrestling.
