Lio Rush sent a message upon his debut on the June 29, 2023 edition of IMPACT! on AXS TV. After defeating Jack Price in singles action, Rush made his intentions crystal clear when he joined Nick Aldis in assaulting the Motor City Machine Guns later that night. Rush would go on to attack Chris Sabin with the X-Division Title and stall tall over the reigning champ to close out the show. In a digital exclusive clip, it was Sabin who laid out the challenge to Rush for an X-Division Title showdown at Slammiversary. We can now confirm that the challenge has been accepted and this blockbuster match has been made official for IMPACT’s summer pay-per-view extravaganza. Having held championship gold in some of the top wrestling promotions around the world, will Rush add the X-Division Title to his list of accolades?

IMPACT Wrestling Down Under Tour Preview: Day 2 (July 1 2023)

Streaming LIVE on FITE THIS SATURDAY at 5am ET (on-demand immediately following) IMPACT Wrestling presents Day 2 of the Down Under Tour in Australia. Tickets are on-sale now at oceaniaprowrestling.com and intix.com.au.

En route to her scheduled Knockouts World Title defense against Trinity at Slammiversary, Deonna Purrazzo will renew hostilities with longtime rival Gisele Shaw on Saturday, July 1st at the IMPACT Down Under Tour in Australia. At Against All Odds, Purrazzo joined forces with Trinity in a winning effort over Shaw and her head of security, Savannah Evans. However, Shaw’s impressive performance in that match has earned her a crack at the title. While Purrazzo has now held the Knockouts World Title for more than 500 cumulative days, we know that Shaw will stop at nothing to claim the spotlight for herself. If Shaw is able to dethrone Purrazzo, the match at Slammiversary will become a three-way with Shaw joining the fray.

The action continues on July 1st as champions collide in a star-studded bout with the IMPACT World Tag Team Titles on the line. It was back in March when ABC triumphed over the Motor City Machine Guns to become the new IMPACT World Tag Team Champions. Just a few months later, Alex Shelley is now the IMPACT World Champion and Chris Sabin, the X-Division Champion. The Guns will have an opportunity to add even more gold to their collection as they challenge ABC in a highly-anticipated rematch.

On July 1st, there’s no rest for the weary as Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry will put his title on the line against Moose just 24 hours after successfully defending vs Eddie Edwards. Moose has had issues with Hendry in the past and if one thing is certain, the action will be as physical as ever in this championship showdown.

Recently on IMPACT!, Steve Maclin and Bully Ray toppled Frankie Kazarian and Eddie Edwards in tag team action. While Kazarian was unable to form a winning strategy with Edwards, he will have an opportunity to even the score when he battles Maclin in singles competition on July 1st. Maclin could be the new IMPACT World Champion coming into this match as he receives his contractually-obligated rematch against Alex Shelley on night one of the Down Under Tour. Meanwhile, Kazarian could also be holding gold as he battles Chris Sabin and Robbie Eagles for the X-Division Title.

Australia’s own Steph De Lander locks up with Killer Kelly on July 1st. De Lander competed for IMPACT back in January of this year and is looking to make a statement at the expense of her opponent. Kelly has proven that she’s willing to sacrifice it all in order to obtain victory, but will it be enough to overcome the powerhouse in her home country?

It’s a three-way match of epic proportions as Brian Myers, Adam Brooks and Robbie Eagles lock horns on July 1st.

After failing to capture the Digital Media Title from Joe Hendry, Eddie Edwards looks to bounce back when he battles Slex on July 1st.

The Natural Classics take to the ring for tag team action on July 1st. Opposing them will be the VeloCities as the two duos vie for the all-important victory.

Slex vs Adam Brooks

The decade-long rivalry between Slex and Adam Brooks continues in our opening contest! Brooks delivers a straight right hand to gain the early advantage. Brooks dives through the ropes but Slex catches him in mid-air. Slex turns the tide by driving him into the hardest part of the ring. Brooks bounces back with a suplex into the corner turnbuckles. Both men spill over the top rope to the floor as the referee begins to count. Slex gets his knees up on a Swanton Bomb attempt, then connects with the Slexecution to win.

Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin declare victory in their respective title defenses later tonight.

It was a horrifying scene in the closing moments of Under Siege when Bully Ray and Steve Maclin brutally assaulted IMPACT President Scott D’Amore and sent him crashing through a flaming table. But just two weeks later, D’Amore gained a measure of revenge when he made his shocking return and cost Bully the first-ever 8-4-1 match to determine a new #1 Contender for the IMPACT World Title. After learning that Bully had filed an official complaint with Anthem Sports & Entertainment, D’Amore revealed that he would be taking a leave of absence as President of IMPACT Wrestling. D’Amore would then take Bully down and lay in a series of strikes before Steve Maclin came to his aid. D’Amore found himself on the receiving end of a two-on-one beatdown when the “French-Canadian Frankenstein” PCO joined forces with D’Amore to clear the ring of their adversaries. We now know that at Slammiversary, D’Amore will make his long-awaited return to in-ring competition as he teams with PCO to battle Bully and Maclin in a blockbuster tag team showdown. As Slammiversary emanates from D’Amore’s hometown of Windsor, Ontario, will Bully Ray and Steve Maclin finally get what they deserve? In a jaw-dropping development, we have learned that NHL legend Darren McCarty will be the Special Enforcer for this match. McCarty came to blows with Bully during his Busted Open match with Tommy Dreamer, and even competed against Bully in tag team competition. As a former enforcer on the ice, McCarty is ready to law down the law at ringside.

Join IMPACT Insiders to stream IMPACT! on YouTube

The action emanates from Atlanta’s Center Stage on an all-new IMPACT! this Thursday at 8/7c on AXS TV and 8:30pm ET on YouTube for IMPACT Insiders.

Just days after becoming #1 Contender in the first-ever 8-4-1 match at Against All Odds, Nick Aldis showed his true colors when he assaulted Alex Shelley with IMPACT World Title. Last week, Shelley demanded answers but Aldis was nowhere to be found, citing harassment from Shelley’s fans as the reason for his absence. Shelley would go on to send a message to Aldis in the form of a superkick to his on-air host, Jimmy Jacobs. This Thursday, Nick Aldis returns to the IMPACT Zone and will finally explain his actions to Alex Shelley. What will happen with their epic World Title clash quickly approaching at Slammiversary? Tune in to find out.

Against All Odds also played host to the crowning of a new X-Division Champion as Chris Sabin toppled Trey Miguel for a historic 9th reign with the title. This Thursday, Miguel will receive his contractually-obligated rematch and we now know that his highly-anticipated showdown will kick off the IMPACT! broadcast. Miguel would stop at nothing to score the victory when he held the X-Division Title – but what is he willing to do in order to reclaim it?

Before Trinity challenges Deonna Purrazzo in a blockbuster Knockouts World Title match at Slammiversary, she first has some business to take care of this Thursday on IMPACT. At Against All Odds, Trinity joined forces with Purrazzo to defeat Gisele Shaw and Savannah Evans in tag team action – but where “The Quintessential Diva” goes, Jai Vidal is sure to follow. After a heated war of words between Trinity and Vidal, this match was made official as the two adversaries look to settle their differences. Meanwhile, Purrazzo will defend the Knockouts World Title against Shaw this Saturday on the IMPACT Down Under Tour and taking out Vidal would go a long way in evening out the playing field.

Last week, Killer Kelly scored a huge victory over Knockouts World Tag Team Champion Taylor Wilde in singles competition. But after the match, Kelly found herself on the receiving end of a 2-on-1 beatdown when KiLynn King joined the fray. As the situation worsened for Kelly, a shocking turn of events saw her fierce rival, Masha Slamovich, even the odds. This Thursday, Slamovich gets a piece of the action as she goes one-on-one with King in a hard-hitting Knockouts clash.

One week removed from his Digital Media Title opportunity against Joe Hendry, Yuya Uemura looks to bounce back when he battles Kenny King on IMPACT. It’s no secret that King has set his sights on Hendry in recent weeks as he joined the commentary team during Hendry’s defense against Uemura. But does King have what it takes to make a statement this Thursday?

The action begins Before the IMPACT, streaming this Thursday at 7:15pm ET exclusively on YouTubeIMPACT Plus (live player) and Facebook. Bhupinder Gujjar takes to the ring as he battles Johnny Swinger in a match you won’t see anywhere else. Plus, Gia MillerJosh Mathews and George Iceman get you ready for all things IMPACT.

CELEBRITIES CRAIG RAMSAY AND GISELE SHAW NAMED AS AMBASSADORS OF PRIDE FOR THIS YEARS WINDSOR-ESSEX PRIDE FEST

Windsor, ON – International fitness expert and author Craig Ramsay and IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Division star Gisele Shaw will be taking part in Windsor-Essex Pride Fest August 2-13, 2023 as Ambassadors of Pride, the organization announced today. An Ambassador of Pride is an outside individual who dedicates their time and energy creating a world that is more equitable, diverse, and inclusive. With a mission to strengthen the sense of community and contribute to the vibrancy, health, and wellbeing of 2SLGBTQIA+ people locally, Windsor-Essex Pride Fest’s time and energy is spent producing inclusive and safe events, initiatives, and programs throughout the year and the festival it holds every August, one of the region’s largest, is its most visible to 2SLGBTQIA+ people and the general public alike. Naming an Ambassador of Pride publicly recognizes the work of others and the combined advocacy increases the profile of equality overall.

“Uniting people in a celebrative atmosphere that welcomes all goes a long way in promoting equality and mutual understanding,” explains David Lenz, Community Development/Treasurer at Windsor-Essex Pride Fest. “Celebrating diversity is based on the notion that everyone has value no matter how different anyone might appear to anyone else. Craig and Gisele are inspiring in how they each champion this belief.”

While this year’s Ambassadors operate on the international level, both have a strong connection to Windsor-Essex and indeed, both call it home.

Craig Ramsay was born in Harrow and his list of accomplishments is long: performing in major theatrical productions in major markets including Broadway, appearing in several film and TV productions, an in-demand adjudicator for dance competitions worldwide, and keynote speaker In 2022, Ramsay and his best friend Catherine Wreford took first place in CTV’s The Amazing Race Canada. He is also a proud 2SLGBTQIA+ community member and advocate having lent his support for other 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations, conducting speaking tours to public schools with powerful speeches of inclusivity, leads youth fitness classes, and even deliver the keynote speech at our own local GSA Annual Conference. He and his husband currently divide their time between Canada and the U.S. where they help raise their child as co-parents with his husband’s sister and her wife.

“I am so proud to call Windsor-Essex my home and honoured to be a 2023 Ambassador of Pride” says Ramsay. I am also proud to support the great work that Windsor-Essex Pride Fest does for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Windsor-Essex and look forward to seeing everyone at the events that are planned.”

Gisele Shaw is one of the most popular stars of pro wrestling and appears weekly in pro wrestling matches that are televised around the world. Last year she publicly disclosed on live TV that she is transgender. She was a guest speaker and grand marshal with Pride Toronto and speaker at the Trans Rally & March. She was also the special guest speaker at the annual Gay Softball World Series and will be appearing as a contestant in the upcoming CTV Amazing Race Canada 9. Gisele has been living in Windsor for the last 2 years and encourages all to live their life authentically and truly with love, passion and acceptance.

“I’m honoured, excited and proud to be named,” says Shaw. “This is my hometown. I was so nervous before disclosing but I couldn’t be happier with the worldwide love and support I have received. Hopefully I can help others on their personal journey.”
