Scott D’Amore Reflects on the Passing of Don West

You can’t think about TNA/IMPACT without thinking of Don West. Don and Mike Tenay provided the soundtrack to so many iconic moments in company history. There was no more cherished member of the TNA/IMPACT family.

Don was truly a one of a kind who brightened every room he walked into. He brought out the best in people and was an inspiration to all who crossed paths with him. He was one of the first people I met upon arriving at the TNA Asylum for the first time, and Don instantly made me feel welcome. His warm heart and legendary sense of humor made every day at work something to look forward to.

I am forever grateful for being able to share a friendship with Don and truly know my career and my life are better because of having him in them.

My deepest and heartfelt condolences go out to Don’s wife Terri, his family and friends, and of course the millions of fans whose lives he touched.

Today we mourn the loss of a special person, but let’s also stop and celebrate the amazing life of our friend and brother, Don West.

While we are here with heavy hearts, I know Don is busy planning heaven’s most epic NYE celebration ever.

Thank you for everything, DW. Love you.

Masha Slamovich, Deonna Purrazzo & Taylor Wilde Slated for Knockouts World Title #1 Contenders Match at Hard To Kill

Order on FITE

Who will be next in line for a shot at the coveted Knockouts World Title? That question will be answered when three of pro wrestling’s top athletes collide in Atlanta, including two former Knockouts World Champions. Masha Slamovich, Deonna Purrazzo and Taylor Wilde are set to compete with a golden opportunity up for grabs but only one can call themselves the #1 Contender. We know what Masha Slamovich is capable of after she took reigning Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace to the limit in not one but two grueling contests. Then there’s Deonna Purrazzo who has previously held the Knockouts World Title for an astonishing 441 days. A former Knockouts World Champion in her own right, Taylor Wilde has completely reinvented herself as of late and this new-found aggression may be the key to putting gold around her waist once again.

Josh Alexander & Bully Ray Unleash Full Metal Mayhem, MCMG Defend in 4-Way Elimination Match, Plus Taurus Seeks Revenge on Miguel at Hard To Kill

Order on FITE

Get tickets

At Bound For Glory, Bully Ray made his shocking return to win the coveted Call Your Shot Gauntlet and earn himself a title opportunity of his choosing, any time, any place. But unfortunately for Bully, his past came back to haunt him as the IMPACT locker room showed their distrust for the wrestling legend. Everywhere IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander went, he had friends – and enemies – warning him to watch his back. Following Alexander’s hard-fought victory over Frankie Kazarian at Over Drive, Bully made good on his promise and “called his shot” honorably for an IMPACT World Title match at Hard To Kill. But the sportsmanship ended there as Bully brutally assaulted the “Walking Weapon” and threatened to attack his wife just moments later. As one of the longest reigning IMPACT World Champions of all time, Josh Alexander has certainly proven that he is “Hard To Kill” but at IMPACT’s first pay-per-view of the new year, he will face his toughest test to date. Will Alexander remain at the top of the mountain? Or will Bully Ray usher in a new era and become IMPACT World Champion for the third time? One thing is for certain, hell will be unleashed in what is now a deeply personal showdown. Following Bully Ray’s violent attack on his former friend Tommy Dreamer, which included the use of a ladder and a steel chair, this bout will now be contested under Full Metal Mayhem rules. Tables, ladders, chairs and chains, if it’s metal, it’s legal at Hard To Kill!

The IMPACT Wrestling tag team division has been red hot as of late, with several teams jockeying for its top prize. After the Motor City Machine Guns defeated Heath and Rhino to become the new IMPACT World Tag Team Champions, a match where the Major Players were banned from ringside, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley laid the groundwork for an epic 4-Way Elimination match. In hopes of determining who the best tag team in IMPACT Wrestling truly is, the Motor City Machine Guns will now defend their IMPACT World Tag Team Titles against former champions Heath and Rhino, the Major Players and the Bullet Club duo of Ace Austin and Chris Bey, who had an impressive showing in this year’s NJPW Super Jr Tag League. Four teams will enter but only one will be left standing in Atlanta!

Trey Miguel has a new attitude, and that attitude is what may have won him the X-Division Championship. It was the finals of the X-Division Title Tournament where Miguel blinded Black Taurus with spray paint to steal the victory and the X-Division Title. In the weeks to follow, Miguel would not only continue to deface his opponents, but also the X-Division Title itself. Now Miguel must back up his actions when the raging bull, Taurus, challenges him in a rematch at Hard To Kill. Will Miguel escape with the victory or will Taurus restore the X-Division Title to its former glory?

On Friday, January 13th, IMPACT Wrestling kicks off 2023 in a big way with its next must-see pay-per-view extravaganza, Hard To Kill LIVE from Center Stage in Atlanta! Tickets are on-sale now at Ticketmaster.com.

The action continues on the road to Hard To Kill. Don’t miss an all-new IMPACT! this Thursday at 8/7c on AXS TV and 8:30pm ET on YouTube for IMPACT Insiders.

Just three weeks before Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace and Mickie James face off in a high-stakes Title vs Career match at Hard To Kill, they will team up against a common enemy this Thursday, the devastating duo of Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans. When Steelz interrupted last week’s contract signing between champion and challenger, she was quick to bring up the fact that “The Boricua Badass” has defeated “Hardcore Country” not once but twice. Jealous that she hasn’t been a part of James’ Last Rodeo, Steelz must now walk the walk in this epic showdown. Meanwhile, Grace was hesitant to accept Tasha’s challenge as she was concerned that James wouldn’t be at 100% for Hard To Kill. Never one to back down from a fight, James was determined to prove her wrong. What will happen in this combustible tag team main event? Find out on IMPACT.

The Knockouts World Tag Team Titles are up for grabs this Thursday as Deonna Purrazzo and Gisele Shaw challenge Jessicka and Rosemary. After Chelsea Green went home following her loss to Mickie James, Purrazzo was left without a tag team partner for VXT’s contractually-obligated rematch against the Death Dollz. That was until last week when Gisele Shaw proposed that “The Virtuosa” and “The Quintessential Diva” rekindle their alliance. Despite Purrazzo placing blame on Shaw for ruining her best friend’s career, she eventually accepted the offer. Who will leave the IMPACT Zone with the Knockouts World Tag Team Titles around their waists?

Steve Maclin will stop at nothing to receive what he believes he is rightfully owed, a coveted IMPACT World Title opportunity. Following victories over some of the biggest names in professional wrestling, Maclin is furious that he still has nothing to show for it. This Thursday, Maclin squares off with former IMPACT World Champion Rich Swann in what promises to be an action-packed collision. Will Maclin continue his path of destruction or will Swann teach him a lesson in humility?

Just two weeks removed from Mike Bailey‘s near 60-minute classic with IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander, “Speedball” returns to in-ring competition against New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Yuya Uemura. Following his match with the “Walking Weapon”, Bailey was confronted and assaulted by Kenny King, who has become obsessed with making Bailey’s life a living hell. Will Bailey be able to focus on the task at hand or will Uemura score one of the biggest victories of his young career?

The action begins Before the IMPACT, streaming this Thursday at 7:15pm ET exclusively on IMPACT PlusYouTube and Facebook. A new side of Taylor Wilde will be unleashed as the “Wilde Witch” locks up with IMPACT newcomer KiLynn King! Plus, Gia MillerJosh Mathews and George Iceman get you ready for all things IMPACT.

IMPACT Wrestling Returns To Atlanta For Back-to-Back Nights of High-Energy Action at Center Stage

HARD TO KILL Pay-Per-View Extravaganza Airs LIVE Around The World on Friday Night, January 13

Reigning World Champion Josh Alexander & Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace Will Defend Their Championships in Atlanta

IMPACT Wrestling presents back-to-back nights of action-packed live pro wrestling on Friday and Saturday, January 13-14 – both nights originating from famed Center Stage in Atlanta.

HARD TO KILL is one of IMPACT’s premier events of the year, every year – and the 2023 show is a blockbuster, on Friday, January 13. Then, on Saturday night, January 14, IMPACT Wrestling presents the Hard To Kill Fallout Show, also at Center Stage, as the company’s television trucks will capture all of the in-ring action Saturday for upcoming episodes of IMPACT’s flagship weekly TV show, #IMPACTonAXSTV (Thursday, 8 p.m. EST on AXS TV in the U.S., Fight Network in Canada and Impact Insiders on YouTube.)

The double main events at HARD TO KILL are both title bouts. IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander puts his championship on the line against one of pro wrestling’s most hated fighters: Bully Ray, a member of both the IMPACT Wrestling Hall of Fame and the WWE Hall of Fame. Plus, Knockouts World Champion defends her title against legendary star Mickie James, who has promised to retire from wrestling if she does not defeat Jordynne.

MULTIPLE INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITES ARE AVAILABLE IN EARLY-JANUARY:

Bully Ray & Mickie James will be in Atlanta on Thursday & Friday, January 5-6 to speak with the media about IMPACT Wrestling and HARD TO KILL.

BULLY RAY

One of the most feared fighters in pro wrestling history, Bully Ray has been wrestling professionally since 1991 – and has been a world champion in singles and tag-team action on multiple occasions, for multiple promotions. The relentless fighter from New York City, Bully was half of the legendary tag team, Team 3D. He is an opinionated co-host for the wrestling-themed talk show Busted Open, which airs on Sirius XM Radio.

MICKIE JAMES

A 10-time Women’s World Champion, Mickie James has been wrestling for more than two decades, including multiple title runs in WWE and IMPACT Wrestling. She has been wrestling since 1999 and has been a multi-time winner of the Woman Wrestler of the Year award. Away from the ring, James is a renowned country music singer, perhaps best known for her hit single “Hardcore Country.” She is an inductee into the Native American Music Awards Hall of Fame and is signed to Sony Music.

All the IMPACT stars will be in Atlanta for the January 13-14 shows, including Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, Matt Cardona, Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, Moose, Taya Valkyrie and Deonna Purrazzo, among others.

IMPACT Wrestling has a rich history in Atlanta, including the AGAINST ALL ODDS showcase event in July 2022. Atlanta also served as the home for IMPACT’s 2007 Bound For Glory premiere event, headlined by Sting vs. Kurt Angle.

The action emanates from Kissimmee, Florida on an all-new IMPACT! this Thursday at 8/7c on AXS TV and 8:30pm ET on YouTube for IMPACT Insiders.

Last week, the Motor City Machine Guns received their long-awaited IMPACT World Tag Team Title opportunity against Heath and Rhino. But there to spoil the party were the Major Players as they blindsided both teams with a brutal steel chair assault. Clearly fuming over their inability to capture the gold at Over Drive, Matt Cardona and Brian Myers will now be banned from ringside when Heath and Rhino run it back with Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley this Thursday on IMPACT.

Originally scheduled as last week’s main event, Eddie Edwards vs Delirious will now take place this Thursday after the impromptu one-hour classic between World Champion Josh Alexander and Mike Bailey sent IMPACT! into overtime. With Honor No More being exactly that – no more – Eddie Edwards wants to focus on the future. But there’s one man who won’t allow that to happen as a ghost from Eddie’s past has come back to haunt him – the deranged Delirious. Can Edwards eliminate this threat and move on once and for all? Or will Delirious make Edwards pay for his sins?

The movement has been reborn and The Design has been unleashed. It was just one week ago when Sami Callihan was bested by the numbers game of The Design, falling to Kon in singles competition. Now Callihan will continue his fight against the group led by Deaner as he faces off against Angels this Thursday. While the motives of The Design remain unclear, one thing is for certain, they will stop at nothing to achieve total dominance – just ask Eric Young.

With his World Title opportunity set for Hard To Kill on Friday, January 13th, Bully Ray turned down Josh Alexander‘s open challenge on last week’s edition of IMPACT. As Bully continues to play mind games with the “Walking Weapon”, he will return to in-ring competition this Thursday. Standing across the ring will be the poised up and comer, John Skyler, who is looking to make a name for himself against one of professional wrestling’s biggest stars. Will Bully build momentum en route to Hard To Kill or will Skyler pull off the biggest victory of his young career?

The action begins Before the IMPACT, streaming this Thursday at 7:15pm ET exclusively on IMPACT PlusYouTube and Facebook. Don’t miss a colossal collision when Shera takes on Shogun one-on-one! Plus, Gia MillerJosh Mathews and George Iceman get you ready for all things IMPACT.
